FBI Miami Announces World Cup Drone Flight Restriction Enforcement
June 8, 2026 - FBI Miami and our partners will be enforcing FAA imposed Temporary Flight Restrictions or TFRs around Hard Rock Stadium and the fan festival at Bayfront Park during the World Cup matches in South Florida.
Before flying a drone, operators should always check airspace restrictions using the FAA-approved B4UFLY apps or visit tfr.faa.gov.
“The FBI is enforcing NO DRONE ZONES around South Florida in support of the World Cup games and the Fan Festival,” said Brett Skiles, special agent in charge, FBI Miami. “Public safety is our highest priority. Our agents and selected law enforcement partners have authority from the Department of Justice to use specialized mitigation tools to intercept and seize drones that violate these Temporary Flight Restrictions.”
Violations of these TFRs can result in civil fines up to $75,000, criminal fines up to $100,000, up to a year in prison, and seizure of the drone.
