Reward Increased to $25,000 for Information Leading to the Location of Miguel Oliveras
March 26, 2026 - The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Southern Maine Gang Task Force and the Portland Police Department are investigating the suspicious disappearance of Miguel Oliveras and are renewing the call for the public’s assistance in locating him or his remains.
The FBI is increasing its reward to $25,000 to anyone with information leading to Oliveras’ whereabouts.
Oliveras, of Hyde Park, Massachusetts, was last seen around 1 a.m. on September 2, 2006, at the Platinum Plus Club on Riverside Street in Portland, Maine. He was wearing a grey camouflage long-sleeved shirt with a white T-shirt over it, green cargo shorts, and white sneakers.
Oliveras is a Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes. At the time he went missing, he was 24 years old, approximately 5’11” tall and weighed approximately 170 pounds. He has tattoos on his neck, back, shoulder, and hand.
There have been no reported sightings or contacts by Oliveras since his suspicious disappearance, which is why the FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information. The public is being asked to view and share his missing person poster.
MIGUEL OLIVERAS
“We are increasing our reward for information that leads us to Miguel Oliveras or helps us recover his remains. We’re talking about a son who never came home and a mother who has been living every day in the painful space between hope and heartbreak,” said Ted E. Docks, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston Division. “Someone out there knows something, and even the smallest detail could make a difference. Miguel's mom Myrna deserves answers, and she deserves the chance to lay her son to rest, to grieve, and to begin to heal. We’re urging anyone with information on Miguel’s whereabouts to contact us.”
“We have not closed the door on this case and continue to actively investigate all available leads,” added Portland Police Chief Mark Dubois. “We are hopeful that new information will emerge that helps bring resolution for the family and accountability for those responsible.”
“It’ll be 20 years this year that my son disappeared and not knowing his whereabouts all these years is killing me,” said Myrna Gonzalez. “I need anyone with information to please come forward. Please, I need my closure.”
Anyone with information regarding Miguel Oliveras’s location should call the Portland Police Department at 207-874-8584 or FBI Boston at 1-800-CALL-FBI. Tips can also be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov.
