FBI’s Operation No Escape Leads to Arrest of Violent Fugitive
Indianapolis / March 9, 2026 – A man who had been on the run since the spring of 2025 has been arrested in central Indiana.
Angel Roman-Hipolito, 37, was taken into custody March 5, 2026, in Boone County as part of Operation No Escape, an FBI-led, multi-agency initiative focused on locating and apprehending violent fugitives - no matter where they are wanted or where they attempt to hide.
A Mexican citizen, Roman-Hipolito, had been in the United States unlawfully before being deported in 2023 after serving a 100-month federal prison sentence for drug trafficking. Roman-Hipolito illegally reentered the United States. In the spring of 2025, Roman-Hipolito fled from law enforcement during a vehicle stop.
Roman-Hipolito was located in Boone County through the persistent investigative efforts of FBI Indianapolis and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement personnel. At the time of his arrest, he was wanted on a federal warrant for violating the terms of his supervised release. During his arrest, Roman-Hipolito provided law enforcement with a false name and was in possession of false identification documents.
“Operation No Escape shows that violent fugitives cannot hide from justice. No matter how far someone tries to run or what obstacles they create, our teams will find them,” said FBI Indianapolis Special Agent in Charge Timothy J. O’Malley. “The FBI will continue to work tirelessly with our partners to ensure dangerous individuals are removed from our communities.”
