FBI Philadelphia Announces Arrest of Fugitive Alexis Flores
February 13, 2026 - FBI Philadelphia and our partners announce the arrest of Alexis Flores, who was wanted for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a five-year-old girl in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2000.
"The passage of time does not diminish our resolve or perseverance in the pursuit of justice," said Wayne A. Jacobs, special agent in charge of FBI Philadelphia. "The arrest of Alexis Flores is the culmination of 25 years of tireless investigative effort and the strength of our partnerships across departments. Through this sustained collaboration and the support of our law enforcement partners, both domestically and internationally, the day is now here. I am grateful to the law enforcement personnel, the agents, analysts, and professional staff whose determination drove this investigation. No matter how long it takes, the FBI will continue to pursue those who commit violent crimes and bring them to justice on behalf of victims.”
"For a quarter century, this case has weighed heavily on the hearts of our City, especially the family of this young victim and the detectives who never stopped working on her behalf,” said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin J. Bethel. “This arrest is the result of relentless investigative work and the strength of true partnership between the Philadelphia Police Department, the FBI, and our federal and international law enforcement partners. Let me be clear: In Philadelphia, time does not erode our commitment to justice. We will pursue the truth wherever it leads and for however long it takes. This is our work. And we remain committed to standing with victims and ensuring that those who commit the most heinous acts are held accountable."
"The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office remains deeply committed to working with our local, state, federal, and international partners to secure justice for families impacted by violence," said District Attorney Larry Krasner. "Although justice is sometimes delayed, law enforcement and prosecutors continue to work investigations and cases until we get just and fair outcomes. Our Victim Services and external contracted partners will extend support services and resources to the victim's family throughout this criminal justice process."
“The U.S. Attorney’s Office is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to apprehend fugitives who flee the jurisdiction to evade state prosecution,” said United States Attorney David Metcalf. “No matter how long it takes or how far they may run, when it comes to a heinous crime like this, justice will be waiting.”
