Duo Runs Out of Options, No Escape from Memphis Safe Task Force’s Pursuit of Public Safety
Memphis, TN / December 16, 2025 – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the arrests of Lakeva Anderson, 20, and Eddie Scott, 18, on multiple felony charges including:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony (2 counts),
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon,
- Evading Arrest on Foot,
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell (Marijuana and Ecstasy),
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone),
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
At approximately 5:20 p.m. on December 15, 2025, Task Force members attempted to stop a vehicle near Denver Street and Lauretta Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. Four occupants immediately fled the vehicle on foot. Following a brief pursuit, two of the four subjects were detained.
A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded firearm. While authorities canvassed the area for the remaining occupants, a backpack was recovered containing another loaded firearm, multiple bags of illicit drugs, as well as various drug paraphernalia.
The Memphis Safe Task Force continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to reducing violent crime and safeguarding Memphis neighborhoods. These arrests reflect the Task Force’s proactive enforcement strategy, reinforcing the collective mission to restore peace and security across the community.
