Memphis Safe Task Force Arrests Man Wanted for Reckless Homicide
Memphis, TN / November 07, 2025 - The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the successful arrest of Demarius Chalmers, 19, in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been wanted for reckless murder since March 13, 2025.
At approximately 5:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, members of the Memphis Safe Task Force executed an arrest warrant resulting in the apprehension of Chalmers. He was taken into custody in the 2800 block of Vayu Drive. He is a known member of the Crips gang.
The Memphis Safe Task Force received the warrant for Chalmers arrest and worked the case to make sure he was apprehended. Chalmers was wanted for recklessly murdering a young woman at a party. He pulled his gun and had an accidental discharge. The bullet hit a woman, and she died in the kitchen of the home of the party.
“The Memphis Safe Task Force is continuing to arrest violent criminals and make Memphis a safer city for all Memphians and those who visit the Bluff City”, said U.S. Marshals Spokesperson Emily Williams.
